If you are experiencing domestic or family abuse, know that help is available. You deserve to feel safe, supported, and heard. There are services ready to assist you, whether you need immediate help, legal support, or a safe place to stay.

If You Are in Immediate Danger

If you feel that your life or safety is at risk, please call 000 immediately. If it is unsafe to speak, you can dial 55 after calling 000, and the operator will know you need urgent help.

Where to Get Help

  • The Orange Door – A free service that connects you with family violence support, housing assistance, and child and family services. No referral needed. Visit The Orange Door.

  • Safe Steps – A program that helps victims of family violence with financial security, employment, and rebuilding independence.

  • Legal Aid Victoria – Free and low-cost legal assistance for those affected by family violence. Visit Victoria Legal Aid.

  • The Law Institute of Victoria – Connects you with experienced family lawyers who can help with intervention orders, custody matters, and more. Visit LIV.
